In the context of computer security, it is good to be wary and take precautions. But what if that’s not enough? … If in spite of all, the trouble sneak into your system and cross your barriers of protection? …

In this third and last part we will talk about first aid. These actions that you can undertake, from the moment your computer behaves a little “strange”.

Some tools presented can also be used on a regular basis as part of a routine maintenance. Your computer will do better.

Begin by identifying the problem

Before undertaking any action, specialists try to define the problem or at least the nature of the problem to be addressed. Do the same. Try to point out the problem…

  1. What do you think is the problem? What did you notice?
Does your device still work or does it turn on? Do you have an answer to the system?
  2. And what did you do just before you notice the problem?
Were you uploading anything? Did you do several actions at the same time? Have you changed measures recently? … etc.

With every symptom, there is a remedy says the proverb

The solution is not as easy. Sometimes only one tool is enough. In another case it is necessary to cumulate several actions, one behind the others, to recover your device.

I am talking about the solutions I have experienced, starting with the easiest to set up. Together we will see when to use:

  • Tools such as CCleaner, Glary Utilities, Malwarebytes and AdwCleaner.
  • Windows restore points.
  • The latest ISO image of your device.

I didn’t deliberately talk about the anti-virus. This one is always in function. It does the guardian work. It scans all new media before they connect to the device. What happens afterwards is no longer its business.

Now let’s see a little about what “remedy” to use and on what occasion. Are you ready? So let’s get started! (to be continued)
